Steve Joyner, PA-C
Physician Assistant, Owner
Greenville Health Care Center, Greenville, NC

What are your privileges and prescriptive authority?

Between 1988-2002, the practice was a nursing care clinic only so the two PAs did not need hospital privileges.

Prescriptive authority in 1989 was based on a formulary assigned by the North Carolina Board of Medical Examiners. Later, the practice formulary was broadened to include all medications commonly used and approved by the medical supervising physicians and the in-house document listed medications and classes of medications that were not to be prescribed (rather than what would be used). The PAs had their own DEA numbers.
