Steve Joyner, PA-C
Physician Assistant, Owner
Greenville Health Care Center, Greenville, NC

The Urgent Care Center was built to the specifications of Steve Joyner and Craig Bruno in September 1988. They did not buy the land or the building: they rented it. Steve Joyner practiced for 13 years with Dr. Elliott Dixon in Ayden, North Carolina in a single MD-single PA family practice. From 1982-1985 he ran the organ procurement services for East Carolina University Medical Center. Following this, he founded the Carolina Organ Procurement Agency as its CEO and ran this agency from 1985-1988. His volunteer activities helped prepare him for business leadership: he is a founding member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and of the American Association of Organ Procurement Agencies. He enjoys helping others assess their business readiness and set up or manage practices. He is current owner of Joy Medical practice development Consultants and provides consultant services on medical practice development to Pas, NPs, and physicians.
