Kim Baird, RN, MSN, FNP
Director and FNP Care Provider
Woodbine Family Care Center, Woodbine, GA

What have been your biggest challenges?

  • Major stumbling blocks and oversights (i.e. issues related to your service area or financing, etc)

  • It takes time to travel to the hospital to visit patients. Furthermore, the hospital sets my fee schedules and I have not had the ability to change them. Once in a while, I do wish I didn't have the hospital come on board. Although there are tremendous financial advantages, one of the biggest headaches has also been because of my own need to control everything. For example, I would change the fee schedule annually. Instead, I have operated on a fixed fee schedule and while still under pressure from the hospital to make money.
